We, of course, started the day at Powell’s Books and stayed to explore for quite a while. Their collection on four floors is overwhelming and we left with a (new) tote bag full of books. We moved to lunch at Deschutes Brewery and to watch the Iceland vs. France Euro 2016 game. Unfortunate result but great run for Iceland — I love the Viking clapping and we need to import – by the way, if you haven’t watched the YouTube video on the celebration at Reyjavik when the team returned, you have to see – the best viewing of the Iceland chant!! On the way to the Rose and Japanese Gardens, we
also drove by Colin’s first apartment building in Portland, the Indigo and it still stands strong with its four windmills on the roof!
